Noel Sanvicente: ¨The Team That Takes The Chances Available Will Win¨
04 Apr 2009
It’s almost here. Match day in San Cristobal this Sunday will see Caracas FC take on hosts Dvo. Tachira in Venezuela’s classic league matchup in what will be the 11th round of this season’s Clausura tournament.
The Avila Reds will aim for all three points but the home team will start as favourites with huge support at their Pueblo Nuevo stadium.
Caracas FC manager Noel Sanvicente knows his side will give 100 per cent on the day against their fiercest rivals and had this to say: ¨This is the type of game that the players enjoy. They look forward to it and there is no need to motivate them. Motivation is already there. They just want to get out on the pitch and take on the Black and Golds¨.
Neither side will find the going easy with the prize for the winner nothing less than going top of the table.
¨It’s such an important match. So many positives for the team taking all three points. We have worked hard with the aim being, and no disrespect intended towards the hosts, that we are the side who are going to take those points¨.
Sanvicente makes one thing very clear: ¨The match will go to the team making the least number of errors as happens in this kind of crunch game with neither side giving any quarter and very little space up for grabs. The team that takes the chances available will win¨.
The Avila Reds go to San Cristobal with the following squad: Renny Vega, Javier Toyo, Deivis Barone, Gabriel Cichero, Jaime Bustamante, Edder Pérez, Emilio Renteria, Edgar Jiménez, Darío Figueroa, Rolando Escobar, Franklin Lucena, Giovanny Romero, Nolberto Riascos, Jesús Gómez, Guillermo Ramírez, Gilson Salazar (U20), Zamir Valoyes, Luis Vera and the returning Rodrigo Prieto who was sidelined for the match against Carabobo FC following his red card against Estudiantes de Mérida. Rafael Castellin is also back in the squad after recovering from injury.
